The AA&CC hires senior students (at least 3rd year) each year for the volunteer positions of Employment and Study Skills Peer Coaches.
Recruitment takes place January to March for the following academic year. Eligible students must be going into at least 3rd year, be in good standing and available for training sessions in May and September.
How can I benefit from this volunteer program?
- Excellent experiential learning opportunity for students interested in careers such as teaching, counselling, etc.
- Develop skills relevant to career planning and job searching, counselling, advertising, human resources and leadership abilities
- Work in an environment that is "team based", supportive and friendly
- Provide you with an employment reference
- Learn about writing, research and further develop communication skills
- Allow you to provide input into program design
What are the requirements?
- Senior (at least 3rd year) UTSC student
- In "good standing" academically (3.0 CGPA required for Study skills peer coach positions)
- Available 3 hours per week and able to attend a meeting per term
- Reliable, excellent communication skills, well organized, responsible
- Enjoy working in a team environment
- Available for training sessions (May and September)
How do I apply?
The applications are available online and print copies are available at the AA&CC resource centre (AC213).

- To apply in person, submit your application to AC213.
- Deadline for application is March 22, 2013 at 3 pm.
